Hi, I’m Andy Primawan — a passionate Full-stack Engineer and Chatbot AI LLM RAG builder based in Cimahi and Bandung, Indonesia. With over a decade of experience in the tech industry, I’ve journeyed from being a founding engineer at a small startup to serving as a Principal Engineer at one of Indonesia’s largest ecommerce platforms with over 18 million monthly active users.

I build robust fullstack applications, design scalable system architectures, and create intelligent AI-driven chatbots using the latest in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology.

Key highlights:

  • Built fullstack logistics platform (RTLS) using NestJS, Next.js, React Query, TypeScript, Ant Design.
  • Created AI chatbot using OpenAI, ChromaDB, and RAG pipelines for company’s public landing page.
  • Developed a Shopify App using Remix Fullstack integrated with the RTLS backend API.
  • Integrated Twilio API for WhatsApp package notifications.
  • Used Redis, BullMQ, and DI patterns to ensure performance, scalability, and testability.

Tokopedia (Bytedance) (06/2022 – 06/2024)

Key achievements:

  • Maintained and optimized over 2,000+ Redis nodes serving 10k QPS each.
  • Designed and executed Redis migration automation with near-zero downtime.
  • Led a project that sped up data archival 30x and reduced costs by 80%.
  • Developed internal PostgreSQL monitoring tools as part of Tokopedia’s cloud migration to ByteDance Cloud.
